Wells Cathedral
Built between 1175 and 1490 this is the earliest English Cathedral to be built in the Gothic style. Wells Cathedral is one of the most attractive and greatest architectural treasures in the area with amongst other things it’s iconic West Front and one of the largest collections of historic stained glass in the country. Free daily tours are available but make a donation if you can to help with the maintenance and restoration of this magnificent building.

The Bishop’s Palace & Gardens
This stunning medieval palace, along with its 14 acres of RHS partner gardens also includes the award-winning Bishop’s Table, a cafe with a view like no other. There is something for the whole family with the palace surrounded by a breath-taking moat where the resident swans ring a bell when they want food and The Dragon’s Lair interactive discovery area.
